We had a baby dedication at our church (is that what you're talking about?) - since we don't baptize infants, we stand in front of church and promise to raise them in the church and then the church stands and promises to help us. It's pretty traditional - just no baptizing.

Okay, sounds good. We are planning to have a baby blessing before LO's 1st birthday (LO is almost 7 months). We're not looking to do a baptism (our church doesn't do them either). I have been thinking about having it in a church vs. another venue, though (like having it in a park or somewhere, even though it will still be a religious ceremony). Thanks for your feedback!
