c/s moms- where are your abs?

I never had a flat tummy pp but now it is just plain old silly looking.  I started doing some ab work but really don't feel like anything is happening.  I feel them when I work out but feel like it is so far under all of the fluff that it will never make a difference.  When I hold DD on my hip it makes a nice squishy seat for her and, although she loves it, I am looking for some ideas on how to make it go away since summer is right around the bend and I can't wear maternity clothes this summer.

  • Where are my abs? Gosh, under all the baby weight I need to lose. I'm in the same boat as you, dear!

  • I can feel my abs if I push deep into the flab on my stomach. The worst part is the droopy dog hanging over my scar. I could flatten my stomach but I don't think the dog is going away anytime soon :-(

  • Good question!  I have the same problem.  It seems like nothing works.  I am curious to see if anyone has an answer to this problem.
  • After a 3rd c-section they are non-existent. After the first c/s they were fine but now I think its going to take a trainer and lipo sculpting,

  • I hate my fat shelf but I don't think it's ever going anywhere except via surgery!

  • I wear Spanx everyday.  I am a dork.  For this summer- thank goodness flimsy, loose tops are in.

  • This was my 2nd c/s and it is way worse than the first time, and I thought the first time was bad.  I am totally dreading summer!

I wear Spanx all the time, but sadly they roll down over my flab often. I actually wear them backwards and they feel better.

My abs too are burried under a layer of "padding". My abs still kind of hurt in my scar area so I don't really do any ab workouts. I would like to not wear matternity clothes or pants that stop just below or at gut level, giving me an oh so atractive muffin top.
  • My sister had my nephew the usual way and is back to her pp body and major flat abs.  She had him 14 months ago and she keeps giving me looks that I still have a shelf.

  • I told DH that after we are done having kids I would like to have lipo.  Until then- SPANX!!
