It was a week today for me. I still get a little uncomfortable in the evening, but no leaking. I pumped on night number two and only got 3 oz of nearly clear "milk". I was down to 2 feeds a day for a week and then 1 feed a day for about 4 days before DD started "screaming" at my boobs when I tried to BF. I gave up.
I cut DD off cold turkey and then started pumping three times a day, did that for 3 days, then 2 times a day for 2 days, then once the next day, and then only let out enough to take the pressure off. I started this on the 8th, an I haven't had to pump or express anything for two days, and I have no pain. It will get better and go quickly, don't worry.
God I hope it is easier for me! I am down to 3 feeds a day. I am in a funk about stopping....But it is what it is. I want to have baby #2 and I have to stop BFing....
I was an overproducer (with 38Gs sitting on my chest) but it only took a few days, certainly less than a week. Probably helped that I wore a sports bra on top of a regular bra so my boobs were smashed down and had no room to hold milk.
ETA - It was a week AFTER I finished pump&dumping for a week (I was on a triple combo of antibiotics for an extreme mastitis episode & the docs felt that even though individually any of the meds were fine for LO, the three together would just be too much.)

This exactly for me.

Re: ? for those who have weaned LO
OMG! It takes 3 weeks! Ugh... I am beyond dreading this.
My thoughts EXACTLY!!!!
I'm sorry for your boobies! I know that the one or two nights that DS actually slept for more than 3 hours I thought that I was going to die.
What is worse is that my lefty is a better producer than my righty, so I'd probably have to walk around all lopsided for weeks! haha
