Another teething question

Is it possible for DS to be teething if his gums aren't even swollen? He's been fussy, waking up at night, has the rash on the chin from excessive drool, wants to nurse constantly, and has been chewing on everything. His current fav is a mini rubber ducky. He's also had a clear runny nose and occasionally holds his ear (mostly when nursing and its not red). Do you think this is teething? He's already got the two bottom teeth and our pedi said it'd be awhile before he got the top ones. WDYD? TIA

Re: Another teething question

  • Yup, the nose and ear things are dead give-aways in my mind.

DS got his top two only a month and a half after the bottom two.

  • Yep i would say so.  Our lil man is working on his first top tooth as well, already has 2 on the bottom.  Luckily his sleeping hasn't been affected this time around but the crankiness is AWFUL!!!

  • Yep. DD's gums did not swell for her two bottom teeth. She had those poke through about 2 weeks ago and now her top two are coming in and they are a little swollen, but not too bad. The drooling is crazy though and the nose is running like crazy

  • And a lot of times the teething process puts a lot of pressure on the teeth so they will tug on them. DD started tugging a lot more the day before her first top tooth started to poke through
