The last few nights he hasn't- don't know if its b/c he is still full from solids at 5(dinner)...We have been waking him to feed at 10 pm to cheat a little, but now that he is 7 months I know i need to cut that bottle out...Do you think he will sleep well, even w/o that last bottle? I don't know what I could do to tweak his sched so he is hungry before bed...
Re: Bedtime bottle question- help! :))
What time do you put him to bed? Can u give him solids 2-3 hrs before bedtime so that when bedtime comes, he will be more hungry for bottle? That was our routine when DD was around that age. At that age I would actually only feed her solids about 1-2 x a day and it was always earlier in the day so as to not interfere with the bedtime bottle.
my LO refused the bedtime bottle for months (although we had trouble getting him to take any bottles, so his circumstance is unique)
it didn't seem to affect his sleep at all though (and we've since solved his bottle issues, woohoo!)
DS has been doing that as well. He used to nurse EVERY night right before bed and since we had to stop nursing he has been really bad about eating at night. For example, yesterday he last at at 2:30 and wouldn't eat again all night...went to bed at 8:15, still refusing to eat, and woke up 30 min later starving. Annoying!
Tonight he actually ate (we've been trying to give a bottle before bedtime routine) so we'll see if that continues.
I've been trying to keep solids at least 2 hours before bedtime, but I find it hasn't really made a huge difference as he never eats a ton of those either.
