bedrest is so hard when

you have lazy a$$ kids in the house, I have an 18 year old son,a 19 year old son with his 19 year old girlfriend who lives here along with her 2 kids a 2 year old from a previous relationship and my 4 month old grandaughter. the only one that helps out is my husband and my 18 year old. I've sat down with my oldest and his girlfriend and explained to them I can't be cleaning up after them and their kids ,they need to start helping out or move out.so the first week they helped out  but now it's back to the same boat,my husband works long hrs,and he helps out as much as he can but I can't stand to use my smelly restroom,my kitchen looks disgusting , you can't find my laundry room floor, and my living room looks like a daycare with toys , kids clothes and strollers and car seats everywhere,I got up awhile ago to cook dinner, and I'm so tempted to get up and to clean and do laundry. I just had to vent my chest feels alittle better.

I totally agree!  I have never been the neatest person in the world, but no WAY would I treat my mom's house with such disrespect especially when she was in need of help (or my mother-in-law's house).  I would sit your eldest and his girlfriend down again and tell them again of your need for their help...and deliver the ultimatum with a date attached to it.  It isn't fair for them to expect you to clean up after them even when you aren't on bedrest but especially now!  Enlist your husband's help and support during this discussion (especially if he is your eldest's father or a close, long-term stepfather).  Good luck! I would definitely be forceful.

  • I think someone needs to teach them a little respect...
  • Yikes!  That's a lot of people to clean up after and it should not be your responsibility right now.  I think it's time to get the 19 yr old and his g/f on board.  I would not be able to handle all that!
