I have always had a bad supply, but my BFF has a great supply. So, I have been using her freezer stash. I have no problem using her milk, but I'm not sure if I'd use a strangers.
I voted yes, but I would only use breastmilk that had been tested and all that jazz. I don't even know how comfortable I would be taking a friend's milk unless I somehow knew she was 100% healthy.
I would take it if it were from a milk bank and I desperately needed it.
I would donate BM in SECOND if it were legal in my state. But sadly it's not. I had to trash 200oz last month because it was expired and I wasn't going to use it. I'm still pissed off that it had to be wasted like that instead of going to some babies who could benefit from it. Grrrrrr.

I had two seriously ill NICU babies and I learned that BM is the best thing for a micro-premie b/c of thier digestive system being so messed up and premature. I think women who donate milk to these babies are HEROS!!!!! It saves lives!!!
Pumping for me sucked and I never produced nearly enough for 1 baby but if I could give I would. It is a selfless wonderful beautiful gift.
Mom to Harmon 1/17/08 and twins Rachel & Callum 8/28/09
One day 3 weeks pp I was given meds and couldn't nurse DS for 24hrs. We tried formula and he screamed and wanted nothing to do with it. My friend stepped up and gave me BM from her stash it was the nicest thing ever!
A few months later another friends baby was diagnosed as failure to thrive because her milk was no good, so I started increasing my supply to feed my LO and hers and she instantly started gaining weight. Pay it Forward!

I currently give milk to a very good friend of mine. I am blessed with an awesome supply and she isnt as fortunate. I see nothing wrong with it as long as you are comfortable with it.
FWIW I am not sure I could TAKE donated breast milk. Do what is best for YOUR child.
