Tube Mamas

DS got his on Monday so we're doing the drops now. Is it normal for him to SCREAM, cry and grab his ears when they go in? I'm thinking he just doesn't like the sensation of feeling the drops in his ears but how could I tell if it was actual pain?

Re: Tube Mamas

  • DD hates them too.  It helped when we would warm them up first (we just hold them tight in our hands for awhile).  I think it probably just feels so weird.

  • Tons of screaming for both Taryn and Teagan.

  • #1- DD doesn't have tubes, but some ear drops are incredibly painful for her. She will tolerate some of them, but others she screams like mad and says "owie".

    #2- LOL @ Taytee!

  • The first night we did them w/ the windows open b/c it was beautiful outside. I was honestly concerned that the neighbors were going to call CPS on us, the screaming was THAT bad.

By the third day, Jack had turned into "Dr. Jack" and would give everyone in the house ear drops (with the cap on) and then I could give him his. So, I think it was just the different sensation teamed w/ needing to stay on his side that he hated.

this was my first thought too - although I got it before I opened it. But for that brief moment I was wondering why you were interested in tube tops.

  • I asked the surgery center when they called to check on him and they said that could be normal. It would be really nice Nico would turn into Dr. Nico because the restraining and screams are not fun. Can I also mention that the tiny bottle is 40 dollars but the big bottle of hydrocodone is only 6? And yes, the Dr prescribed hydrocodone (with two refills) for pain.
