Babies: 9 - 12 Months

re the irking grandparents post

i was reading everyone's responses and it really is a miracle that more babies didn't die of overheating back in the day!  this isn't AS much of an issue with MY parents, but if it were up to my grandma ds would be bundled up ALL.OF.THE.TIME.  her and my grandfather come to ds's swim class every saturday morning and you should see how she tries to bundle him up before we leave.  and, now when you put a hat on ds he just rips it off so she (she is 82) will walk next to dh holding the hat on his head.  it drives me CRAZY!!!

  • LOL my mil is the same way!!!!!  always trying to wrap ds up.  i always have to rescue him bc the poor kid ends up crying and sweating!!!  ugh!!!!  i'm always like, no wonder you're upset, you're hot!! Devil

  • My MIL does the same thing.  She always thinks the girls are cold.  And poor Ava, with her helmet is usually so warm but everytime we take the girls out, she bundles them up like crazy.  Even in my house, she likes to put blankets on them.  And I go around taking them off.  Too funny!

  • True story: DD got a nasty heat rash because MIL was covering her up with 5 blankets every day.  I did not know this and when I found out I put an immediate stop to it.
  • Yup, DH's grandmother is notorious for overbundling DS.  It was 65 here one day last week.  And she asked me...I'm not kidding..."Where is his snow suit?  All you have is this coat?"  grrrrr....
