Anyone involved with PETA than can answer a ? for me??

What does FINAL product not tested on animals mean exactly?? I am horrified that I may have just bought a product that is involved in animal testing.

  • I'm not involved with PETA, but I think I can answer your question.  It means that the product AS YOU BOUGHT IT was not tested on animals, but that the ingredients in it might have been.

  • I am thinking that means that only the final product is not tested on animals, but ingredients used to make that final product may be tested on animals.  HTH...

  • I'd say that definitely means it's tested on animals before the final product is finished. I've never seen that before. I've only seen either, not tested on animals or nothing on the product. What is it, if you don't mind me asking?
  • I'm a member of PETA and yes, it means that ingredients in the product were tested on animals prior to the final product.
  • It means that most likely some product in it was tested on animals. Almost all Bath and Body Works products say that on it.

Its from Regis brand and its Olive Oil Hair Mask....

I have used olive oil hair masks before but the one I normally use comes straight from Greece.

Unfortunately, I think that even when companies put "not tested on animals" that usually only applies to the final product - the OPs label was just specific in stating that it was the "final" product.  Ingredient suppliers that are not named on the final product may still test on animals despite what the label says.

  • Ingredients in the product.....could have been animal tested prior to becoming the final product.  However, PETA is a horrible corporation & a disgrace to the vegan/vegetarian/animal liberation community.
  • Thanks everyone for their replies. Definitely taking this stuff back.... gotta find my little Greek lady to get my stuff!

This is 100% true.  Most cosmetic ingredients are tested on animals SOMEWHERE down the line...the company that manufactures the product just doesn't do it, they pay someone else to, so they can put "BlahBblah Company does not test on animals" or whatever and technically it is true, although at some point you can bet it was tested on animals somewhere.

  • If anyone is interested you can find a list of companies that do not test on animals (AT ALL) via the peta website here https://search.caringconsumer.com/
