Holy neglect Batman...

I cleaned out the closet today, vowing to throw away anything I haven't worn in the past year, or six months prior to getting pregnant.

I'm virtually naked now. NOTHING to wear. And my Dh thought I really just said that! Ha, I can't wait for him to see I really wasn't kidding. I even threw out all those "I'll wear that again when I lose the weight" clothes. Because I'm having trouble losing the weight and by the time I do I wouldn't wear that stuff anyway. I realized since getting serious with my DH I have truly "let myself go" and neglected me. Wow. Thank goodness he doesn't realize that/or care.

Wow, so cleaned out the closet today, getting my hair done professionally and completely different Friday. Maybe this year I will lose the weight after all.

Baby steps.

  • I hear ya on that! I feel like the only clothing I really have left that fits decently are my maternity clothes! I guess it's a good thing I'm pregnant again and so soon after DS lol!

No but really, I recently cleaned out my closet too - it's lookin' pretty stark. I've vowed to get in better shape and lose some weight after LO #2 is born and then I'll go clothes shopping. Hopefully. ;o)

  • I did the same thing w/ my closet this year!  seriously I had stuff from high school...not even in style anymore but I just kept hanging on to anything that fit.  Now I have tons of room in my closet, but 7more lbs to lsoe before I shop! (we'll see how that goes.....)
  • We totally need a sahm get fit check in!  I could use some accountability!

  • I so need to do this.

I asked for GC for clothes at Christmas and I've slowly been buying new stuff, but I've not gotten rid of much.

I have a shirt that I still wear that I got in middle school. I'm 35. Is that bad?? LOL!

I have several soccer shirts from grade school that I sleep in LOL.  old tshirts are the best, they are so soft! (I'm 28).

  • Haha Jen that's awesome. I still have my 8th grade t-shirt from our "Almost Anything Goes" day and I just turned 36!

  • Good job on the closet cleaning!  I have to do this myself.  I have NOT let go of the majority of those "when I lose the weight" clothes because I LOVE most of them & don't think we will have the $ to replace all of my clothes - lol, DH is the clothes horse around here and has WAAAY more clothes than I do and is constantly buying more.  And his mother buys him more.  She was over the other day and asked "is that all the laundry you have to do?"  I said, "no, it is all of DH's laundry."  MIL: "for how long?" Me: "don't know, he wears til he is out so probably about a month". MIL: silent.  I forgot to tell her he had a FULL bag of drycleaning in the car as well - like $50 worth.  Surprise

Anyhow, so I have nothing to wear as well.  I am getting sick of my maternity clothes which until recently I was still wearing because I didn't want to stretch out my other tops with the BFing.  In addition, while I hit my pre-preg. weight I didn't have a lot of clothes that fit well when I found out I was preg. and was trying to lose weight then AND while my weight is down, my body seems very different.  It is sad to realize how little I have.

So, about 5 weeks ago, I started to get serious about the plan I started before finding out I was pg.: Get back to pre-DH fit levels!  :)  He has been a horrible influence on me and I, sadly, also didn't realize how bad it had gotten til - well, til it was BAD.  So I have been hitting the gym and watching portions & not buying stuff I tend to snack on when I am bored.  I am down about 10 lbs. :)

I also bought some workout clothes at Khols a week ago - 1. I only had 1 pair of pants that were safe for working on machines (I am short and lots of them are too long - not a good idea on the treadmill, etc.) 2. I only had 1 t-shirt 3. I figured if I felt good about what I was wearing, I would enjoy going more.  It worked.  Not only do I enjoy going more, but they have been comfy to wear around the house when hanging out with DS & cleaning.  It is amazing what having just a few new things that fit me NOW has done for me. :)

My plan was a new haircut after 10 lbs, but I think I am going to wait til 15 or so because I can't decide what I want. LOL.

Good luck with your haircut & each baby step.  I give you props for the closet! Smile

OMGosh, I am sending this link to everyone I know because they make fun of me for that all the time.  I have gotten much better & parted with a lot of my MS/HS clothes.  But, come on, I stopped growing in like 8th grade so if it fit I kept it.  And some of them I liked enough to keep wearing - sweatshirts, t-shirts, swimsuits, etc. LOL...I wear my PE uniform as PJs in the summer.  They color is awful but it is soo soft & comfy.  ha ha.

You just made my night! lol
