Pee Stick = Gender?

I just got an e-mail from The Bump... about a urine test that predicts the gender.  It's supposed to be 90-somthing percent accurate.  Have any of you used these?  How much did they cost?  Did they really end up being accurate?  -Thanks for your help :]

  • I don't know how YOUR pee can possibly tell you the sex of your baby.

Send me $10 and I'll guess for you.

  • There is nothing in your urine that indicates the sex of the baby.  Don't waste your money on that "test."

  • I planned on doing it just for fun.  Not going to paint my nursery based on the results or anything.  Also, I read that the company won't release the "science" behind the test because there is a "patent pending".  So who know, maybe one day this type of thing will be mainstream.  But still, don't bank on the results.

  • Edit: Opps, didn't mean to quote!

OR you could spend your money on a phone call, they claim to be 99% accurate, that is like a 9 more percent chance of guessing right on a 50/50 questions. Wooza.

Really. The Bump sent you that email? And it claimed it was over 90 percent accurate?

Have you officially decided to become a bona fide troll?

  • I would follow tthe Chinese Gender chart before I would follow a pee test to tell me what I was having.  Seriously, just either wait until you have your big u/s or when the baby is born.
  • Even though I know it's not accurate (regardless of the 6 friends who tried it and all had correct answers), it still looks like fun, and I like to pee on stuff lol.

I don't see how it's much different from other OWT, and seriously, it's my money, I can spend it on that or some other stupid crap, regardless I'm stimulating the economy :P  lol

I agree, it's your money and it might be fun to see what it says and compare it to the gender charts, what you think the baby is and what your DH thinks it is. I might take it if my DH lets me get it, I have seen a youtube video about it and it said they'd have a boy, but they had a little girl. Like PP have said, I won't be buying clothes based off it, but it might be interesting to see!

Now if the people on the youtube video had an accurate reading and so did 20 other couples that tried it, then it would be interesting. But already seeing how one of the readings wasn't accurate, it's just a scam to make money.

    Exactly.

And u/s aren't 100% accurate either.  And I know this is no where near the same as an u/s, but to say that the only reason it's a scam is because 1 person had it wrong, would totally make u/s a scam lol.

  • I don't believe them.   From what I've seen among friends and bumpies who have used it,  the outcome is really about 50% accurate-  which is what you'd get if you threw a pink ball and a blue ball in the air and picked the one that landed closest to you.

Then again, they also have the Chinese gender chart AND the notoriously inaccurate ovulation tickers on here, too.
