NBR:Photographers for a wedding?

Hey ladies, I thought you all might be able to help. I have been looking at wedding photographers and cannot believe the prices for wedding pictures nowadays. Is $1500 the normal for these? Do you know of someone that does wedding photography that doesn't cost over $1000? Nicole Faby, one of the photographers that I contacted is already booked for the day we are planning to get married. Should I just plan to pay that much or should I look around more?

i used Cinema One Photography, I had a great experience with them, if you get the choice ask for Doug(I think thats his name) he was wonderful with our engagement pictures, which were included with our package. they were a little above $1000 but really worth it.
