GD Testing Vent

My numbers are really starting to frustrate me.  I tested after dinner, and my number was 141 (2 hours).  What?!  I washed my hands and re-tested and got 81.  I have no idea what to think anymore.  I think my meter is playing mean tricks on me.  This has happened a few times over the past few days.

    Have you used the special testing solution to make sure your meter is accurate?

    Plus washing your hands before you test is always the best way to go since you never know what you might have touched to make the numbers skew.

    if you had any residue on your hands before you tested it can make your numbers sky rocket.  I once tested after using hand sanitizer and got a reading almost 100 points high.  I would go with the number after washing.  It is probably more accurate.

    My meter did the same thing to me a while back. I thought I was going nuts. Sometimes if I test and get a number way too high I drink some water and test again its gives me a normal number. Stress can make your numbers go up too. If you skip washing your hands use an alcohol swab. Make sure the alcohol on your fingers is completly dry before testing.

    my meter is an occasional liar too. I always retest if i get a kooky number.
