so DS has been sleeping in his bouncer chair since pretty much day one, he does not like laying flat and no wedge products have worked. anyway last night we put him down as usual in the bouncer which is on the floor right next to the bed. We dont strap him in because he likes to keep his legs together and you can't do that. He has been fine and sleep 8 plus hours in it every night!!
so this morning our big chocolate lab came over to DH at 620 and was waking him up, this is not uncommon bc the dog wakes us up when he gets hungry but he goes and lays back down when we tell him to...he was VERY persistant today.
Apparently, DS slid himself out of the bouncer and landed face down on the carpet with his head under our bed. DH went over and luckily his feet were moving, I would have screamed if it was me seeing him. DS is absoultely fine, he was still sleeping when DH picked him up and is rather mad that he is up, he usually sleeps until 730ish....
needless to say, we guess he can now roll over, we have no idea how that happened and it was really scary, but all is well.
We are now entering a new world and we will have to sleep in our PNP tonight!!!
sorry so long
Re: 1st scary parent moment- all is okay
Ahh! Glad he is ok! And good on your dog for his Lassie like moment!
Good luck with the pack n play tonight!
glad everything turned out OK!
good luck transitioning to the PnP!
can you wait till he falls asleep in his swing and then put him in the PnP? (a short-term solution to be sure)
yeah we may try him falling asleep in the bouncer, since he does so easily and then moving him....the swing is downstairs but he is a great sleeper in that also, it is where he naps!! I'll report how it goes tomorrow
yes i did:-) why are they not okay for overnight sleeping?...I searched before we started doing it and couldn't find anything and our pediatrician said however you can get him to sleep at this young age is fine until he starts to roll, which is apparently last night:( I have many other friends who have done it or used a car seat when the baby wouldn't sleep flat.....I would love to pass the info along if you have any. Thanks so much!!
this is the one i have...more of a rocker than a bouncer

did you read the label on the product? usually, products have warnings about safe and appropriate use, mostly because people use them in ways other than what they are intended for and their kids get hurt, like yours could have last night.
i'm shocked that your pediatrician told you it was safe to leave your child in a bouncer overnight, unattended. that's is the most irresponsible medical advice i have ever heard. ever. totally shocked.
Glad to hear that your son is OK.
Part of my job is dealing with baby/children's products and safety. I cringe whenever I hear of a parent not using the restraints that are installed on the product (swings, strollers, seats, etc.). Children can roll when you least expect it, or the product can break and your child can fall out and suffer a serious injury. I hope we all can learn from your scare and use the straps everytime.
Did you try this product? We're considering it for baby no. 2: https://reviews.fisher-price.com/6194/51903/reviews.htm
