we bought the Soothie pacifiers. But then the other day we bought more and noticed it was thicker - the packaging was the same but written on the paci was "super soothie"
The only one he really seems to love is a "nip" paci that his auntie got him from Nordstrom. We have tons of others that people gave us as gifts, but he doesn't show much interest in any but that one.
My son liked the Avent the best, but would pretty much take anything. My daughter will only take the funny flat-ended gerber ones. I'd buy a couple of brands and see what works best.
She will occasionally take the Soothie (what they gave her in the hospital) but she doesn't keep it in her mouth well. She does better with the Avent - they're lighter and I like that they don't cover so much of her face.
We had the Soothie ones but switched to Avent. He can keep those in his mouth much better. (and I think they look better)
This, except we use Nuk instead of Avent. We will still offer the Soothie ones when he just wants to casually suck, but if it's a comfort thing, he's usually too high strung to keep the Soothie's in. The nipple on the Nuk is curved just enough that he can use his gums to help keep it in.

She likes the regular ones.
