Wait-- MILK stains don't come out in the wash?

Seriously? I just washed a dried some of James's clothes that he dribbled milk on yesterday, and they both came out with big stains where the milk was. I didn't use a stain pretreater because I thought that normal detergent would get milk out. This is just normal whole cow's milk. WTH?

  • Please, someone tell me-- am I just a total moron, is my washing machine to blame? What do I use to get milk stains out?

  • I would help but we are not on whole milk yet. I am watching your post to see if you get some good tips. I would think it would have come out with no problem.

  • Huh, I've never noticed milk staining.  I have been using Oxy stain remover on Aaron's clothes and it works great...maybe try that?  I'm actually surprised that it didn't come out.

  • I can't speak specifically about milk, but, Biz seems to get everything out!  It was recommended to me by a mom with 3 kids, so, I'm assuming she's used it with her two older kids.  It's a powder stain remover and the only place I've been able to find it is Target.  You fill a bucket with a scoop of Biz to two gallons of warm water.  Then, just throw stained things in for a day or two and wash and, I swear, huge stains come out!!!  I keep a bucket going at all times!
  • I also second the Oxy Clean spray but now I'm anxious to try the Biz! GL!
