Introduction and Question About Kaiser

Hi.  I've lived in the area for about nine months and I am 19 weeks along.

Does anyone know anything about Kaiser Permanente's birthing center options?  They don't have a lot of information on the website and I'm trying to do a little research.

Re: Introduction and Question About Kaiser

  • Calling Kaiser directly would probably be your best option. I don't have Kaiser but I am giving birth at Birthcare and Womens Health in Alexandria and I am almost positive that they take Kaiser insurance. HTH wish I could give you more info.

  • I have them and I believe I had the option of a birthing center in Alexandria.  I am in Maryland so I opted for Holy Cross hospital and was happy there.  Throughout the pregnancy I was also seen by nurse/midwives in addition to the OB which I liked.  Good luck.
  • I have Kaiser - you can use Birth Care and Women's Health in Alexandria - just ask your OB about transferring...

  • I have had 2 in the Kaiser system. I could choose Shady Grove, Holy Cross or any of the Inovas. We chose Inova FFX and live in Clarksburg.
