I am just packing one outfit/hat and a blanket for when we go home. The hospital will provide everything you need to take care of them while you are there. You will just need to pack for the ride home basically.

I didn't bring anything but clothes for DD to come home in and I put that in my bag. I'll be doing the same thing for this LO. The hospital provides you with what you need while you are there.

True. We're packing a couple more sleepers because the hospital recommended them for when there are visitors and you are wanting to breastfeed. We're also packing one swaddle blanket because I want the nurses to show me how to swaddle using my own ones, which are thin and larger than the hospital ones will probably be.
There are lots of lists out there you can look at to help with this--my hospital has lists on its website, in the childbirth class books, etc.
I didn't bring anything but her coming home outfit. We left the hospital with so much for DD. They provided us with diapers, wipes, receiving blankets, etc.
Our hospital provides everything for LO, so I will just be bringing a coming home outfit and a blanket to get her smell on for the dog. DH will bring it home so the dog gets used to her smell before we bring her back.

The list you have seems fine. I'm glad you are taking more than one outfit, though! When we were just getting ready to buckle Olivia up in the carseat to take her home, she had an explosive meconium poop and dirtied up her coming home outfit. Luckily, I was a packer and had some else for her to wear:) Good times:)
ETA: I also took a swaddling blanket, pacifiers, diapers/wipes/vaseline (we live a bit of a distance from the Hospital), and nursing canopy.
Listen to the 2nd and 3rd-timers. You don't need anything but an outfit. The hospital provides you with a side-snap tee (complete w/fold-over mitts), hats, blankets, diapers, wipes, and if it's like ours, a diaper bag, diaper cream, a nasal aspirator, thermometer, and more stuff than you'll need.
Anything else is overkill, BUT, we're not trying to rain on your parade, so pack whatever you WANT (just know what you'll actually NEED).
we packed way too much for DD#1 the first time. . this time we plan on bringing her coming home outfit in both sizes, wipes (the hospital doesn't provide wipes . .. ), and the baby blanket . .just in case. .who knows what the weather will be in may.
The pp are correct in that the hospital will provide you with everything that lo will need. With my first dd, I just used those t-shirts and wrapped her in the hospital blankets.
This time I actually plan on taking outfits for dd2. I am just thinking of bringing gowns which are easy in the beginning to do all the checking and changing as needed. Nothing too fancy like outfits, but I also want her to have her own things. Why you might ask? Last time we ended up at the hospital with a couple with the same initials and last name as us. They even picked the same pediatrician. We both had girls born on the same day. We had met them in our child birth class. The hospital was so freaked out about it that we were on opposite sides of the hospital, but they still asked us to put something personal in her bassinet. I know they were vigilant about checking identifications tags, but I also didn't let my dd1 out of my sight since everyone was freaked out. I think if I have different outfits it might ease my mind even more.
everybody is right; the hospital provides everything. two outfits and carseat are all that you need - i also recommend a blanket that sort of goes with an outfit that you are bringing for pictures - pictures look cuter when you put a blanket other than the boring hospital blanket under your baby and you dont want a red blanket and a pink outfit. such a little thing but i learned that the first time. i recommend throwing a empty shopping bag in your bag for all of the stuff you will be bringing home so that you can throw it right in the nursery - they will give you diapers, etc to bring home
and dont forget chapstick for you - that was my most important item the first time around!
I would only pack a going home outfit and blanket... I also brought the boppy pillow which was very nice to have. .You will not need diapers, wipes. Hospital will provide them for you.

You'll need:
coming home outfit and blanket, swaddle, breast pump if you want to get instructions from lactation consultant hat to go home in
they supply towels, hat at birth, diapers and wipes (for Free) and onesies.
