Not being kicked in the ribs??

So I keep hearing all of these complaints about being kicked in the ribs..I still haven't been!  I know that my LO is head down.  Anyone else not been kicked in the ribs??  Not that I'm complaining...hopefully I'm not jinxing myself.

  • Once he got under them and pushed out. It HURT. I kindly asked him to stop and it hasn't happened since.

  • Do you have a longer torso?  I don't think I've experienced this either but I have a long torso so he may not be able to reach my ribs yet!

  • I never was with my first LO but this time around the little girl has discovered how to hook her little toes in my ribs and push. It's still not as painful as the cervix blows though!
  • Maybe you have a longer torso than some of us. Either way, lucky you!

  • My torso is actually on the shorter side.  I'll just consider myself lucky for now! :)

  • My DD was a lot less active than my DS.  She never kicked my ribs or hurt me.  DS is constantly getting in my ribs, pushing out really hard, or making me sick from his big movements.  Maybe you will luck out and not have any rib kicks this pregnancy.

This!!! Nothing like being gawked at in public when you double over in pain! I swear my little girl thinks my cervix is a punching bag!

  • nope, my kicks are all low, but she's breech
TTC #3 with PCOS. Long cycles, ovulate about 4-5 times a year Married 6/9/07 DS 7/15/08 Met RE 12/08 DD 6/2/10
  • I haven't felt it with LO#2 yet but DD kicked ribs ALL the time later in my pg.
  • Mine just started the other day. They aren't so much painful as awkward feeling.
  • I have a long torso and felt no rib kicks. He made up for it with side kicks.
  • So far I haven't felt any rib kicks yet..I'm also on the shorter side so I'm just counting my blessings!
  • No rib kicking here either

  • I've had it once or maybe twice. And I'm short (5'1") so I'm just counting myself blessed and hoping it last :)
  • I haven't really felt any painful kicks anywhere yet.  Sometimes I feel like something is pressing uncomfortably into my ribs/lungs but that has been the worst of it.  I've only felt a bladder kick once.  I have a feeling that she is going to make up for it all in the last few weeks or when she's coming out though.
  • LO taps me every once in a while in the ribs, but I haven't had anything like people describe either.  I'm assuming I'm lucky :)
  • None here, but she's spent most of her time in utero folded completely in half (feet by head) so even though she's head down most of the movements I feel are down low.
  • I actually had a 4D today and poor little one had its feet in its face.  Sooo... I'm thinking that the reason I haven't felt much kicking up there is because it's folded up, with its head, arms and feet all in the lower corner of my abdomen.  Sometimes I feel some pressure under my rib cage and up against my lungs, which I now think is its booty.

  • I am petite (5'1") with a shorter torso and haven't had any rib kicks. He has been head down for quite some time too. He constantly rolls around and kicks out toward the the side and front of my belly. No complaints here.
  • not yet with this lil guy - and never really had that problem with DD - I think I carry my babies so low that is not an issue as much? I get tons of jabs in the pelvic bone and bladder.
