Parenting after a Loss

am I the only one who started rice cereal a little early?

I didn't really do it on purpose. My pedi told me to give him cereal in his bottle to help with his reflux, but I just couldn't find the right cut in the nipple to make it work, so my DCP suggested feeding him the cereal by spoon along with the bottle. She tried it for a few days and now he's loving being spoon fed the cereal! He ate like 2tbsp of cereal this morning from the bowl! I figure if he's ready for it then it's not a bad thing...right?

  • We started at 4 months since Cora was always hungry. How is school? I am so done with my class.

  • Well he'll be 4 months in a week so a week or two early isn't too bad.

School is actually not that bad right now. I've finally found a behavior system that works for them and they're doing well with it right now. I still have my troublemakers, but that's to be expected.

I started DS1 and DD around 3 months. My pedi just mentioned starting DS2 on cereal around 4 months, but then said it was ok after 3 months since he's such a milk monster.

  • I started early and don't feel bad about it.  You shouldn't either!

  • I went against the docs suggestion and started thickening his bottles.  It doesnt seem to be helping with him going any longer between bottles, but it does seem to be helping with the reflux a little.
