How many diapers are enough? Anyone tried the all-in-one style? I'm not so thrilled about plastic pants if I can avoid it. I will be a SAHM, so doing laundry every 2-3 days is not a big deal. Where did you buy yours? I've been looking at Target, eBay, Amazon, etc and Target seems so over priced for what you're getting. Recommendations please. TIA!
Re: A few cloth diaper questions
First, the ladies on the Eco-Friendly Family board are a huuuge resource when it comes to CDs.
I tried the Jillian's Drawers trial, then bought more of what I liked: https://jilliansdrawers.com/products/clothdiapers/tryclothfor10/tryclothfor10
Here is a great page of info on CDs and sites to buy them at: https://clothdiaperdiary.blogspot.com/
AIOs are better once baby is bigger. Target is overpriced. I bought mine mostly from Amazon. You need at least 24 dipes. I am not a big fan of prefolds, but those are the cheapest (they just don't fit DS great). I love Kissaluvs size 0 (KL0s) - we use those with Bummis covers (they are not plastic). I just got a Thirsties cover to try too. If you want to go straight to a one-size (OS), I'd recommend Flips - I was skeptical, but they are great! And the covers can be used for any diaper that needs a cover (we use them with the KL0s).
Also get some reusable wipes and a couple wetbags. If you do go the prefold route, you'll need snappis (not pins) to keep together. HTH!
I would have 24-30 diapers for a 2-3 day stash. I love all in ones, super easy to put on, but they take forever to dry. My stash for DS is a few AIOs, mostly pockets, some prefolds and covers. I love the Bumgenius diapers. I have both the organic one size AIOs, the sized deluxe AIOs and the pocket 3.0 diapers. I like all of them. I also have Happy Heinys one size pocket diapers and I love those as well.
I buy mine from www.cottonbabies.com and www.abbyslane.com They both offer free shipping and if you sign up for the newsletter from abbyslane you will get a code for 5% off your order. If you want to do prefolds get them from www.greenmountaindiapers.com and get Thirsties Duo Wraps for covers. Those are the best. You'll also want a pail liner and a wet bag. My favorite brand is Planet Wise and I buy those from www.nickisdiapers.com for free shipping. Check out https://www.theecofriendlyfamily.com/ for more info on CDs.
I'm jumping in here. what is the trial? Can you really send back what you dont like there? TIA
