Bugaboo

Anyone have a Bugaboo stroller?  I have always wanted one and want to make sure they are worth the money.  I also need some points to talk DH into letting me get one!

My advice would be to go to a higher end baby store that carries comparable strollers to the Bugaboo and test them all out.

Just b/c you think you want something in theory - in reality there might be something else you like.

I personally thought the UppaBaby Vista was much nicer than the Bugaboo.

  • Thanks!  I am going to Land of Nod in a few weeks and will test them out!
  • I have a Bugaboo. If I could do it over, I would have gotten something else. Do you live in a city where you rarely drive? If so, it might be the stroller for you.  I found it a pain when I would have to take it apart, put it in the trunk, and then put it together again everywhere I went. There are some positives....the pram, it rides well etc. But I am sure there are a ton of other strollers that are just as good. I didn't do research, and I could kick myself. We are now expecting twins and you had better believe I am going to read about every stroller out there. Trying them out at Land of Nod is a great idea!

One more thing....if you DO get a Bugaboo, buy it from a retailer that will switch it out for you (meaning, when it's time to go from Pram to seat....they will do it for you at no charge, and it saves you a lot of work).

I have a Bee and love it. With the bee you do not have to remove anything to fold it.  It drives like a dream and the canopy is perfect for my very fair DS.

  • I have the Bugaboo Frog, I love it!!  It handles really well, turns on a dime, has a super smooth ride even on bumpy surfaces.  I think it is worth the money, before I had a baby, I did not.  I thought these pricey strollers were dumb.  But then my baby was born and the stroller I had was crap.  I walk all the time and it wasn't holding up.   I spent a long time researching strollers and finally decided on the Bugaboo Frog.  It has been worth the investment.

Def see if you can find a store that carries high end strollers, push some around, you may like others better than Bugaboo.  Bugaboo is a great stroller manuf., but they got popular from TV and famous people.  There are less expensive high end strollers that are just as nice.

  • You should really look at the Baby Jogger City Select.  Look it up on their website, if it had been out last year when my son was born I'd have bought that over the Bugaboo Frog.

It can be a single and a double.  Very cool and will save you $$$$ if you plan on more children.   It can be a single now and down the road you can buy a kit with an extra seat so it can be a double.

We got the bee at a killer sale at Neiman Marcus a couple weeks ago. It came out to being cheaper than the Chicco we were going to get, and it's super light, easy to fold, less bulky and narrower for navigating stores/etc. I'm super pleased with it (though have yet to actually use it on something/one other than a teddy bear haha).

  • I got the Frog....also on sale from Neiman Marcus like $300 off!

  • I have a frog and absolutely love it.  I thought it was going to be a pain to fold up but it isn't.  I love the fact that it isn't bulky.  We've used the bassinet several times (at the mall, for walks, etc) but we usually just snap the carseat into it.

  • I'm going to purchase the Bugaboo Bee.

I love that it is narrow, easy to fold, easy to travel with and has a number of great accessories.

DH and I live in a city and travel a lot so it is the best option for us.

  • I'm not a fan of the Frog of Chameleon, as a nanny of over 8 years and have used many of them.

There is a new bugaboo bee coming out in April, however, that seems AMAZING! I love the older version of it, and the newest version looks even better- they've worked out all the kinks!

I also love the UPPAbaby Vista, Peg Perego Si, and a few others. I just don't think the Frog is the best stroller out there for the money- it's lacking a lot of features and really isn't at the top of my list for "ease of use"....it's more of just a fashion statement- which is NO reason to buy a stroller. I also love Baby Joggers!

Hope that helps a little...look into the new bugaboo bee when it comes out.
