DD just woke up from a nap pulling her ears and SCREAMING for 20 minutes now and of course, her pediatrician is closed for the day. Anyone know of an urgent care place in Arl/Alex/Springfield?
There is one right near the Shoppers (is that beulah and kingstown blvd?) and there is one at pickett and duke. I have been to both and had really good care. hope your DD feels better!

I made the mistake of taking DD #1 to two different urgent cares one time when she split her face near her eye falling into a coffee table. The one was in Springfield on Backlick Road, the other on Commerce Street in Springfield. However, both did not take kids under - what was it - 4 or 5 years old?
We ended up going to the Inova Emergency Care Center on Walker Lane in Alexandria, which happens to be the building where the kids' pedi is, so I knew where it was. The stinky part is that it is like an ER - if you're not bleeding or having a heart attack, you don't get seen right away.
Wife, Musician, Fed, WW-er, and Mom of three little kids - not necessarily in that order.
Thanks ladies! We took her to an urgent care place on Telegraph (near Hayfield) and like Artslvr said, they don't take kids under 5. WTF?
Of course, once in the car, she was totally fine and has been ever since. We are just keeping an eye on her for now, but so far, she's sleeping like, well, a baby. Maybe it was just a fluke.
Someone needs to invent a 24 hour pediatric clinic--I'll be they'd make a fortune.

For sure. We called the pediatrician on call the other night because DD #2 is STILL sick (Day 16 of diarrhea - fun!) and our pedi office charges for that. And that's just a phone call. Imagine if they had a place open at night that actually took patients - I think they'd be millionaires.
