Does anyone know if putting it in a bag of rice over night will make it work again? I know that's a trick for water-logged cell phones; hopefully it will work with Ipods, too.
My nano went in the washer and dryer and it still worked. The only thing that didn't after that was my nike transmitter that I used for running. I am guessing as long as you dry it out, it should work. HTH.
Uh-Oh! The rice trick didn't work with my husband's phone. Maybe it'll work out for the iPod. Good luck! Hope it was his fault and not yours!
I usually check his pockets. It never fails that if I don't check his pockets something gets messed up...our tennant's rent check, iPod...
Funny thing is though, SD nor I ever leave stuff in our pockets...must be a guy thing
I don't leave stuff in my pockets either. I rarely even use my pockets. I washed his work phone (a blackberry) and got chewed out. It happened on a Friday night, so I had to listen to him all weekend. Turns out, they have insurance on their company phones. Phew! But do you think he learned his lesson? Nope. I try to remember to check pockets, but really, if you put it in a hamper then it should be ready to wash!

I totally agree...if you are almost 38 years old and put your clothes in the hamper, I shouldn't have to worry about something being in your pockets. Luckily though, he's not upset with me. I think he's a little frustrated at himself.
Do you have any of those little packets that come in new purses? I think they are silicone or something and say "do not eat." Those are supposed to really help suck out moisture, maybe throw one in with the rice. You also can buy special bags to dry electronics out, maybe you can find one at a Best Buy or Radio Shack. They look like regular ziplocs, but have some special qualities that suck moisture out. GL!

You can get him to put stuff in the hamper? Lucky..

If it's a big or older ipod instead of a nano, it will have a standard hard drive instead of flash memory... if that's the case, put it in the freezer if the rice trick doesn't work. in fact, you can try the freezer either way - it won't hurt it.
