this right here is why i don't ever fault ANYONE for setting up a nanny cam whether they tell the nanny or not. sorry.
and i'm with you, i'd be in jail for beating that woman's head in. hopefully someone would be there to physically restrain me, but i hope that woman in tortured in unbelievable ways when she's sitting in prison.
I think that telling the nanny about the camera may have prevented this no? How is the nanny cam preventative when you DONT tell them?
I'm not watching a video of a child being beaten, I just don't understand why parents don't want their sitter walking on eggshells because of videocams.
oh, don't get me wrong, i am all for telling the sitter that she's being videoed in every angle imaginable, but i don't necessarily fault parents for doing it.
::shudder:: this sort of shitt just makes me furious beyond belief. I'm so glad i have someone trustworthy and i'm SO glad i have streaming video so i can peak in on her during the day.
This. That sitter should be grateful she wasn't babysitting for my family. Her life would have been over.
I honestly do not believe that if you tell a nanny there is a video camera that she will not still abuse. She may do the abuse outside, in a bathroom, out of eye shot of the camera. If a person is that sour to abuse a child I want to know it. I dont want to tell them there is a camera so they are walking on egg shells. There should be NO egg shells to walk on.
Agreed. The nanny also stated that she knew about the camera.

I don't even want to get into this argument but a nanny can take a kid out back and beat it if she wanted to. I don't get how cameras help prevent anything. But I'd be up front about there being cameras, just not where they were. And if you believe that a nanny would just beat a kid in the bathroom, wouldn't they do it anyway and assume? So what's the point?

i totally understand where you're coming from. but i don't think it's about preventing so much as "knowing" versus not knowing.

That made me sick. I'm really glad I've decided to stay home for a couple more years with Jude. I trust can't put my trust in someone else to watch over him, and videos like this reaffirm that for me.
That poor baby. I can only imagine how hard he must of been crying and how hurt and confused he must have felt. That's so horrible.

As usual, Lanie has pretty much said what I was going to say. Nannycams, IMO, are not meant to SPY on the nanny secretly. They're there so that the nanny KNOWS they are being watched and are aware of them and everyone is on the same page.
And, I refuse to watch the video. It's horrible enough to imagine; I dont need actual video of it.
You know what I don't get? Is why do people go into a job as a nanny if you can't handle stress or dealing with a child? I mean that was an older women. Not some young teenager or 20yr old who might not know they can't handle it. That was a grown as$ women who should know what she can & cannot handle.
Are people like that just sadistic freaks who get off on abusing small children like that? Is that what it is?

i would like to know the same thing! also she said she knew about the camera and didn't care. i mean, that right there tells you she didn't care about being caught either. i just hope she gets the maximum of whatever the law permits, but to be honest it wouldn't be harsh enough for me.

What a sick woman! How could ANYONE do this to a baby?! I am so sad for that little baby and that family! That lady deserves to rot! Ugh it is sickening that people can have that in them. I'm so sad I watched this.
I just got offered a p/t job and my girls would have to go to daycare two days a week--I don't think I can do it now!
