When did your baby's umbilical stump fall off?

She is almost 4 weeks old and her stump is still attached. I know every baby is different but would like to know around what time it should be falling out? TIA!

My LO's fell off around 2/ 2.5 weeks.

DD's fell off last Saturday, so 2w 2d. I went to change her diaper and it was gone. Someone had just told me a couple of days before that I'd find it in her diaper, and that's where it was. Our ped told us not to treat the stump with anything (alcohol, etc) and to just let it be. But maybe your ped will tell you different since it's been 4 weeks?

It mostly fell off at 2 weeks. There was still a small piece left that hung on for another week.

I actually don't remember when, but probably around 4 weeks...his stayed on for quite awhile.

DS is still on almost 4w. Pedi said as long as its not red/infected/smelly not to worry. We don't use alcohol and do get it wet in showers/baths.

Abour 1 week 5 days, there is still a bit of a scab left though. We were told not to treat it, but my mother was insistant and as the days passed, her button kind of stunk more and more and it was bleeding a bit so I caved and we used alcohol, the next day a chunk came off, and the second day another big chunk. I'm not sure if it was due to time or the alcohol, but I'm glad its gone!

Have you tried drying the root? We didn't know about this until yesterday at LO's pedi apt., but she pushed some skin back and used a Q-tip and swabbed the base and it was still moist, so she recommends just swabbing the area a few times a day. I hope that will help because Lilita's is still very attached.
