Anyone have a snugglenest?

We are cosleeping, but DS (almost 4w) will only sleep ON me.  In the past few days he has started being really squawky at night although not really waking up, however he wakes me up every hour or 2 and I am sleeping in a sitting position.  He usually sleeps 3-4 hours and eats at midnight/3-4ish.

I picked up a cheap sleep positioner w/ velcro and am not really pleased, so I am looking into a snugglenest.  Are they worth the cost?  And has anyone had a 'heat seeker' like DS only want to sleep on you like the snugglenest?  DS does not like his ARCS or sleeping in bouncers or swings.

I want to be slightly more comfortable at night and co sleep with DS as safe as possible. Thanks!

Re: Anyone have a snugglenest?

  • Hi there. I can totally relate (DD is now almost 10 months old). We had a Snugglenest and I still like the idea but it didn't work for her. Neither did the ARCS or anything else but sleeping on or next to us (on her side b/c of reflux). We ended up buying a pop up/down safety guard mesh rail and she's been sleeping with us ever since.

Hope you can find a solution that works. It is scary to sleep with them when they are are so very tiny.

  • We bought and used this one for 5 months https://www.target.com/First-Years-Close-Secure-Sleeper/dp/B00012CHFI/ref=br_1_5?ie=UTF8&frombrowse=1&searchView=grid5&searchNodeID=273951011&node=273951011&sr=1-5&searchRank=pmrank&searchPage=1&rh=p_36%3A%2425-%2449&searchSize=30&id=First%20Years%20Close%20Secure%20Sleeper&qid=

I loved it and so did DS. He also would only sleep on me. It didn't take long for him to get used to the safe and secure sleeper (not sure if this is less $ than the snugglenest? FWIW I didn't think the price was bad at all) and it worked wonderful for our family. I knew he was safe, and he was right next to me so I think it helped him sleep better because I was right there. It wasn't hard to take him out to nurse him either.

I am a big fan. He grew out of it by 6 months... but by then we didn't need it anymore.

  • The Snuggle Nest worked great for us!  It was a lifesaver, really.  DS only slept on my chest for a few weeks at first, too.  Then I finally got to the point where I could transition him to that without waking him up.  Smile  It was perfect.  He outgrew it at about four months but at that point I was comfortable enough to just have him on the bed between us.

Up to about 12 weeks, DS slept swaddled and I put the sleepnest in the ARC with a couple towels underneath to give an incline.  He slept pretty good until he started to fight swaddeling.  He also is too big for the nest now.  He bedshares now and has been sleeping great at night.  If you don't swaddle, that might help.  Also Lo might like being in a nest better cause it's cozier than a big ARC.  HTH!

  • I hate to be the minority here, but we HATED ours. Returned it Embarrassed

The problem was that Henry needed to be TOUCHING me and the snuggle nest didn't allow for that.  We continued with on the chest sleeping and wakeful nights with him in the crook of our arms until he got past that stage.
