How long have you left your kid(s) with your DH for?

I'm in an OOT wedding at the end of April. (A nestie's wedding! How cool is that?) I'm going to be gone for three days, two nights. DH and the boys are invited, but it's shaping up to be more of a girls' weekend, and I don't want to have to worry about the kids, so all my boys are staying home. And now I'm really stressed. DH has never been alone with both kids for more than a few hours at a time. I know they'll be fine, but in the back of my head, I'm convinced that they won't be able to manage without me. Please tell me I'm being stupid.

The longest I've left DD with DH was last July (DD was 13.5 months old). I went to Vegas for a long weekend. So I left Friday afternoon and didn't get back until Sunday night. They were completely fine.

i think 3 days/3nights when i went to vegas for a girls' weekend this past summer. dh is more than capable of taking care of dd.

I recently went to Whistler with a friend and left the kids with DH for 3 nights. They all did great.

We've never been in a situation where he had to be alone with DS overnight, but I wouldn't think twice about it. They are just fine when I'm gone.

They'll be more than fine. It will likely be good for all of them. We used to LOVE when my mom took off with her friends for a week.

Not more than the 9 hours I'm away from work, but that's only because the situation for me to go away by myself has never presented itself.

However, I absolutely would not hesitate to leave DS with DH for an extended period of time. DH is the best dad in the entire world and he and DS have a blast together.

DH has DS by himself for several days at a time on a regular basis because I travel for work. I think it's been great for both of them. They'll be fine without you but so happy when you get back! Go and have fun!

You're being stupid (You asked for it!!)

They'll be fine! My DH defers to me while I'm home most of the time, but if I'm not there they manage just fine. As long as they're fed they'll be fine. Even if they wear mismatched clothes or even stay in their pjs all day

i've never been in the situation to leave them overnight, but i'm sure he'd be very capable. he's spent the entire day with her alone plenty of times.

3 days, when I went for a girls' weekend to San Francisco. I think he was nervous about it (DH, not DS) but they managed just fine! I think they had a great boys weekend together, and it definitely helped (my already very supportive) DH get a good appreciation for what I do all day as a SAHM. It was a great experience all around. Go and have fun and don't worry about it!
