DD is in a forward-facing Marathon now, so should we take the seat with us if we think we might ride in a cab or something from the airport (going to Key West; not that far of a drive but any moving vehicle is dangerous, etc., etc.)?  Not planning on renting a car but that could change.  Haven't done this before where we didn't have our own car and thus knew we'd need the seat.  Thanks!

Re: Taking a trip, riding in a taxi...bring the carseat?
Absolutely. While some cities have laws that permit a child to not use a carseat in taxi's, etc., I just don't think it is worth the risk.
I'm assuming that you didn't buy a seat for the plane (since you didn't mention using it on the flight)- so I would bring it to the gate and see if you can get a seat for DC and if the flight is full, gate-check the carseat.
