Infertility

1st PIO injection done

And it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be considering the size of the needle. I iced the spot before and no pain at all. Im betting its going to get more painful...am i right?  The good thing is if this cycle works out for us, the clinic said after a positive beta they will switch me to suppositories.

  • Good Job! Here's hoping they don't get any worse for you!

Upper outer hip on my back, confusing we had a diagram from our clinic that showed exactly where to inject on either side of back.

  • Congrats :)

For me, some shots were "bad" shots that hurt more or made me bleed, but they didn't get worse as a general trend. I really didn't think PIO was that bad.

  • glad that it wasn't too bad!!  For me personally, they never were horrible, but then again the longest I have ever had to do them was for 2 1/2 weeks, so I bet after 9 or 10 weeks it can probably get painful!!  but thankfully you won't have to worry about that when you get pregnant ( which you will!)  and you can switch to supps!

  • It won't necessarily get worse! I have done them for 2 weeks and they have been a piece of cake for me. I never developed pain or lumps as I've heard sometimes happens, so although I know they do get worse for a lot of people they might not - good luck!

  • They get easier as time goes on.  The needle is much scarier than the actual pain!
