When to start OPKs?

Okay so I know this has been asked and I know about taking the average of your cycles, etc etc.  But this is only my 2nd cycle so there's nothing to take the average of :)  When we were trying for my DS, it took 2 cycles and I O'd on CD27 and then on CD20.  This time around cycle #1 I O'd on CD17 (which surprised me and I didn't even start the OPKs until the day after I O'd!)

 

So when would you start in my case?  I haven't bought any cheapies yet, I have the Walgreen's brand and I have 12 of them.  Thanks ladies!

    I would buy some cheapies.  If you O'd on CD17 last cycle, I would start around CD13.

    I'm definitely going to buy the cheapies if there's a next time around.  I had bought them when TTC my son and then forget all about that website this time around!  I think my fear is that since the 2 cycles I TTC DS, the 2nd month I O'd 7 days earlier than the first cycle, that the same thing will happen again!  We'll start having sex every other day starting today, but I hate to literally piss my money away if I missed my surge like I did last month!
