Re: Hello everyone from a Northern Utah newbie!

  • Congrats! Don't worry, being nervous is normal. I was nervous all the way up till I had my little guy but once you have your baby you won't know what you were so nervous about! Just enjoy every moment of being pregnant because believe it or not, you will miss some of it and you'll forget what it feels like so fast!

  • Hi Jeana, I'm Megan.  I have family in Syracuse and I live in Ogden.  This is also my first pregnancy.  As of right now I'm 15 1/2 weeks along.  I always forget to check this, so if you want to talk, you can e-mail me at pixiefairy1981@gmail.com. :)

How has your first few months been?  Mine were a little rough, but only due to severe cramps.  They turned out to be nothing, and my doc said that if any bleeding accompanies them to call her right away.  Did you have morning sickness?  Any weird cravings?  Have you "popped" out yet? ;)

     Take care!

    Megan

  • Thanks Megan & Missy, I appreciate the support!!

Megan, I sent you an email, hope to chat soon!!

  • Hi,

I live in West Point and am pregnant with my first.  I'm just over 6 weeks along.  I'm having a hard time trying to decide on an OBGYN.  Who are you seeing?  I prefer to deliver at Davis Hospital.

     Thanks,

    Diana

  • Hi Diana!

I go to Dr. Teela Sorenson at the Syracuse Tanner Clinic!  I really like her and her nurses are awesome too!

I plan to deliver at Davis as well and that's where she goes!

Let me know who you decide on and if you have any other questions, etc.  All of us newbies need to stick together!  And, especially since you are so close!

    Take care,

    Jeana

  • Hi Jeana,

Thanks for the quick response.  I scheduled my first appointment with Dr. Sorensen also. How crazy that we are going to the same doctor!   I'm glad you like her.  I don't know anything about her.  It's such a big decision to pick a doctor when you have to do it so blindly.  I'm just relieved to know someone who has seen her.  I've read some reviews online. Some are good.  Some are not so good.  I was starting to worry.  That's when I started looking at the message boards and responded on your thread.

We definitely have to stick together.  How far along are you?  I"m just about 6.5 weeks.  I'm so excited for the first appointment.  Time is going by so slowly.  We just told our families this past weekend.  I want to tell my friends, but we decided to wait until after the first appointment.  I'm not sure if I can wait that long.  It's hard to keep something secret that you are so excited about!

    Thanks again for the info!

  • Hi Diana,

I am excited you are going to Dr. Sorenson.  She is nice, she is quick so make sure you know exactly what you want to ask her when you are there.  But, like I said her nurses are awesome so you can chat and ask them everything you need to!

I will have to read the reviews online to see what they say, I didn't even do that.  I had been going to her as my GYN for a few years before I was pregnant so I just stuck with her.

I am 14 weeks and 3 days pregnant.  Only 6 more weeks til we find out what we are having!

When is your first appointment.  If you can hold out until 10 weeks instead of 8 you can actually see more on the ultrasound.

Dr. Sorenson is really nice though, I went at 8 weeks because I couldn't wait, like you, she gave me an ultrasound and we really couldn't see much so she had me come back and 10 weeks and did another ultrasound but only charged my insurance for 1.

On Tuesday we got to hear the heartbeat, it was surreal!

My husband and I were the same way about telling people. We waited until we were 10 weeks, that was the advice from Dr. Sorenson.  It was so hard though, we wanted to tell people so bad!!  But, I am glad we waited to make sure that everything was okay!

Hang in, time will fly by fast if you can keep from thinking about it so much!  :)

    Keep me updated!

    Jeana

  • Hey Jeana,

I went to my first appointment today.  You were right.  I do really like Dr. Sorensen. She was great.  Our official due date is October 29th.  I'll be 8 weeks tomorrow.  I go back on April 1 for an ultrasound.  She said I was a little early to have one done today.  I was a little sad, but I expected that to be the case.

We are still going to hold off telling the masses until after the ultrasound.  Our family and close friends know though.  We couldn't keep it from them.

Thanks again for the advice about Dr. Sorensen.  She was amazing.

    Have a good one!

  • Hey girl!

I am glad you liked her.  She is really nice.

I think it is a good idea to hold off until that first ultrasound to tell anyone.

That's cool you are having a Halloween baby!

You will have to keep me updated on how it's going and how your first ultrasound is.  If you are like me you won't see much but she points out the heart and it is pretty surreal.

    Take care!

    Jeana
