Anyone get attached to their due date?

This is so silly I know. But the first time I read our due date on my chart at the RE it was such a  surreal moment. I never thought I would make it far enough to have a official due date. Since then everyone has asked "when are you due?" July 15th has become so much apart if this journey, and I have really gotten attached to that day. I will be happy whatever day he is born obviously, but I will always have a special place for July 15th.

Re: Anyone get attached to their due date?

  • Not too much, but I just wanted to say that I love your due date.  It is DH's birthday and a very special day for us for a few reasons.  My grandpa's bday too!

  • Yes! I was crazy about it, too! Oue RE gave us the due date of 10/11, and that was that. But then the ob/gyn put it down as 10/13 after my first u/s with her. I refused to go by that date. I told everyone my due date was 10/11. And it mattered none b/c he was born on 9/23! haha! But I'll never forget 10/11, and what it meant to me! :)
  • Yes, I was very attached to 3/28 because it was my due date. Thankfully DS was born on his due date!!

The second time around I was so huge that I wasnt so attached to my due date...I just wanted him out. Lol. He came 5 days early.

  • I am now!! DS was born on his due date! 5/2!

  • I totally did, but mostly cause it was June 21: Father's Day that year.  But, I was so large and in charge by June 18, I was glad he decided to come three days early!  :)

  • I got attached to January.  Claire was due January 26th and I was so big, that I assumed that I'd go a little early which would still be in January.  Throughout the pg, I looked at garnet jewelry, the birthstone for January.  Then January ended and I had to have a whole new mindset for February.  It's a wierd thing, not a big deal to anyone but I guess the people that respond to this post!!

  • Yup...I loved that she was due 10/30. That was my date the whole time I was at the RE, but the idiots at the OB's office refused to budge from their "due date wheel" so I was put down as 11/1 (which ended up causing us issues when I went into labor at 36w6d according to them, 37w1d according to me. But like dukesgirl, it didn't matter since she was born on 10/10, but on 10/30 this year I'll definitely be thinking about my due date.
  • sort of.  My due date is July 4  (I didn't particularly want the baby born on a national holiday.

However I have got to pick my c-section date 6/8/10 and I hope we get there, b/c that would be a very cool birthday.

  • Accoriding to my RE and my ER date I'm due June 3rd which is what I tell people.  OB won't budge from her "wheel" and has me at June 5.  It's only 2 days and not worth splitting hairs over, it just irks me.  Yesterday when I reminded her again of my due date and asked how she came up with hers, she actually told me they go by the ET date.  How that would make sense since the egg was fertilized 5 days prior blows my mind.
  • Yes, N was born on her due date (induced).  6/9 is my parents' wedding anniversary as well.  My son was born the 9th of the month too and I thought it was cool that they were both born the same day of the month.
  • Me! I love our due date - 5/5/10. :) I really hope we go on our due date, but I know that isn't very common. I wouldn't mind going on 4/29/10 either - our ER was on 4/29/09.

  • Definitely!  DD was due on Nov. 20th, which was my grandmother's 85th birthday.  Even though DD was born two days late, her middle name is Frances after my grandmother.  (My sister and I are her only grandkids, and DD her first and only great-grandchild, so I knew that it would make it even more special to her too.)  Nov. 20th will always be a special day, and I went into labor that night which makes it even more memorable too! :)

  • I don't like ours, it's 9/11.  Sure it would turn an unpleasant day into a great one, but I just don't like the way it sounds when I say it, you know?  I'm also confused about how it was calculated, because my OB is going from the date of my last period, not ER.  I thought most Dr.'s went by date of ER since that's the day of fertilization.
  • Me!  I know it's just a date....but our wedding anniversary is 7/7 and love that the baby is due on 7/27.  My birthday is 7/18, so July is a very busy month for us.  Just hoping July doesn't turn into August!
