Playgrounds for 13 month old in Alexandria ish area

Any recommendations??  DS is not yet walking but loves to stand everywhere and enjoys infant swings.  I have searched different websites and found all the playgrounds but you never know until you go.

  • There are two in Old Town that we like to go to. DD is 17 months, but I've been taking her since she was 8 months old. Both parks have infant swings and equipment for smaller kids.

Montgomery Park--north Old Town. Not very crowded but no shade: https://alexandriava.gov/recreation/info/default.aspx?id=12290#montgomery

The other one, I cannot remember the name of, but it's on the south end of Old Town, across the street from the Potomac. It's between Union ST and Lee St. The cross street is Gibbon. There's a big playground with infant and "big kid" equipment. It gets pretty crowded but it's in a good location with lots of shade.

  • Any part of alexandria is fine- don't mind driving. Thanks for these suggestions.  We will have to try them out! :)

  • I think Ben Brenman is a good park for little ones.

chinquapin also has baby swings, but isn't great for crawling around.  But, you can always go inside to the soft play area too.

Beach Park is nice because it has a lot of grass space.  It has baby swings and a sand box.

Beverly park is also nice.  It has a ton of open space (it is sitting in a big open ditch), infant swings, a sand box, and some ride on toys.
