  • Are you willing to venture outside of Pines? Like to Weston by chance?

  • Yes, that's close to me too.  Thanks :-)

  • I've been looking a lot.  I haven't looked at the one Sam sends her son to b/c it's a little further than I wanted, but I've heard a lot of good things about it! I have not yet gone to visit Kindercare off Pines and 184th (ish) but am going to go to that one.  My favorite of everything I've seen has been Chesterbrook off of I-75 and Sheridan.  Basically I've pretty much been to every other daycare in the area so feel free to ask :)

  • Thanks, I'm hoping I won't have to look into daycare, but LO has been teething and more than once my sister (who babysits) has called stressed out saying she doesn't think she can do it anymore - she has a 2 year old and between his antics and LO's crying uncontrollably at times (and just wanting to be carried) she's going nuts.  I'm going to talk to her this afternoon when I pick him up and can hopefully change her mind.  My stomach is in knots at the thought of having to leave LO with a stranger - something I thought I wouldn't ever have to do because my sis babysits.  We pay her, so one of the things I'm going to offer is to pay her more - though I know she would have done it for free.  Wish me luck...

  • I send Mikey to Creative Child in Weston. They have several centers down here. Everyone there is fabulous. He is learning so much there and I'm already seeing him doing things that he probably shouldn't be doing for a 2 year old. He knows all of his colors, shapes, can count to 20 in english and in spanish. He knows his ABCs and is starting to draw things and identify what he's drawing. Like he'll draw a lolli-pop, pillow, or a ball (not just a circle) and he'll tell you exactly what he just drew. It's 15-20 min for me to get there from Pines but to me its well worth it.

Thanks, I'll check them out too - do you mind me asking...how much do you pay weekly?  I work from home twice a week now, so if I need to send him to daycare it would just be 3 times a week.  It's awesome that Mikey is learning spanish too - I wasn't sure if most daycares had some type of bilingual program so that's good that this place does.

  • I pay just over $200 a week but that's for the toddler room, with lunch, and full time. They do offer a part time schedule and its much cheaper. Just so you know, just in case you haven't really looked, most daycare's prices should go down from the infant room. That usually is the most expensive room because the ratio has to be higher. Most of the daycares that I saw in the Pines area were between the high $170s -$220s a week for full-time for the toddler room.
  • Just popping in to say my son goes to Creative Child in Tallahassee (owned by the same people as the facility in Weston) and it's amazing.  I absolutely love their infant room. He is very well cared for there.  GL!
