One of us thinks (person #1) that's birthday card invitations made through Walmart would look cheap esp since walmart.com will probably be printed on the back. The other of us (person #2) doesn't really care if people know where we printed our cards even if it's WM and just wants to use the cheapest place possible if we can find something we want.
Would you care about printing off birthday invites at WM?
Who do you agree with? #1 or #2?
I just don't want to say who thinks what. : )
ETA. #1 also thinks the WM cards look cheap. But I think that's just b/c they know where they came from.
Re: Please settle a dispute b/t DH and me.
Baby J is here! Born on her mama's birthday.
11 pounds, 7 ounces and 23" long at birth!
My Bio
Never once have I looked at the back of a party invitation to examine where it was printed.
If they have cute ones at Wal-Mart that you both like and you think they are of nice quality, then I say go for it. Don't worry about the "brand."
If, on the other hand, there are specific things about the Wal-Mart party invites that the Wal-Mart objecter doesn't like -- such as choice of colors, design, paper weight, whatever -- then have them printed from somewhere else.
But if we're talking about the same design/colors/quality etc. and the question is simply where to have it printed? If it is cheaper to have it printed at Wal-Mart versus another place, go for Wal-Mart.
Catching up on sports news...
#2... If I got an invite, I can assure you I wouldn't check to see where they were printed, and if I didn't, wouldn't care.
I must confess that if I really like a particular card....then I look at the back. This is how I fell in LOVE with tiny prints.
I'd say if you like the product, who cares where it is from (unless you have objections to Wal-Mart...which I sort of do.) But if you were to ask me the same question and insert Target, Sears, etc....I'd say go with what's in your budget and taste and who cares what is printed on the back!
I didn't want to say who said what b/c I wanted to make sure your responses were unbiased. It doesn't hurt my feelings at all.
With that being said, I am laughing so hard b/c I'm #2. I cannot believe DH is so against buying cards from WM. What the world? He doesn't think a few cents difference here and there means much. But I want to save as much as possible since there are bigger expenses than party invites
O.k. I have Caylee's birth announcement sitting right here printed from walmart.com and I picked up in the store (so printed there). It does not say anything on the back about Walmart. It just has some numbers and the date and the "watermark" thing Fujicolor Crystal Archive Paper. The quality is fine, just like shutterfly or somewhere else.
Tell your DH to get over it.
My Sweet Girls
they should be glad to get an invite IMO!
