Toddler boys and #2

Is it just my toddler that runs away when he has a poopy diaper and I tell him it's time for a change?  He doesn't do this with a wet diaper, just poop. It's like he would be perfectly content all day to sit in the mud (so to speak) than get a fresh change.

Ugh! Boys!

  • Ugghh, my ds is the SAME way! He will sit in poop all day if I would let him. He hates it being changed. I hope that changes soon. :-)

  • He doesn't run away but he thinks it's hilarious when I open his diaper and react to the AWFUL smell.

LOL!  Ben likes to say "I poop! Smell it!"  It totally cracks up DH.

  • Mine goes through phases.  Right now he is cool with diaper changes, but just last week he'd scream bloody murder everytime a diaper change was mentioned.  I'd ask him if he had a poopy diaper, and he'd say "no..." in a tiny little voice that clearly indicated he was fully loaded.

  • Ha ha, at "sit in the mud."  :)

Lately DS does this too sometimes.  About a month ago we thought he might be ready for potty training soon, but then he started fighting diaper changes, yet can't stand to have his hands, face or clothes dirty.  He's suddenly stubborn about sitting on his potty too.  I'm sure it's all psychologically related somehow.  He might be getting ready for potty training, but he's definitely not ready yet if he can sit in the "mud" for very long.
