Help! Im a human pacifier!

It seems like Lola just wants to sit on my boob all day long. Before she got sick, we were on our way to getting on a good schedule. But ever since we left the hospital it seems like she just wants the comfort of laying on me and sucking away. Its so hard to tell if she's really hungry or if she just wants to suck. Help!

    I'm going to ask the obvious question here, but does she take a pacifier?

    most babies get their hunger fill around the 15 min mark.  i wouldn't let her go much past that.  20 mins max.

    DS is definitely a comfort-sucker. He'll suck on anything. My shoulder, my arm, my neck. Haha.

    I was wondering the same thing! DD is only 1 wk old, so I was going to wait on pacifiers, but it seems like all she wants to do when she is awake is suck! I keep feeding on demand, but I think my nipples are going to fall off Tongue Tied

    man.... i posted something just like this not too long ago. i went out and bought just about every brand of pacifier to see which kind she would like. it ended up being the MAM. but i would do the bait and switch. feed her enough so that i knew she was definitely comfort sucking, give her the paci, let her stay in my arms a bit longer til she was drowsy/sleep and then lay her down. sometimes she would stay down for 10 min sometimes longer. we're doing pretty well now with her starting her own sleeping pattern now.

    i still let her comfort suck a bit (like when she's in my lap & i'm bumping)...but it does get better! hang in there.

    This has been me for the past 48 hours!! I've been reading everything I can get my hands on to try and figure out whats going on. Growth spurt, cluster feeding, comfort nursing....who knows!?

    Ainsley will take a pacifier (when she can find it in her mouth) - This has helped us some. I'm hoping this will pass soon because it is driving me crazy!!!!!1

    my son was doing this when he was a few weeks old and at his month appt i spoke to his dr and she said let him go 2 hour between feedings. if its he acts like he wants to suck or eat inbetween then its most likely for comfort and then try a pacifier.

    i did what she said and my baby boy and i have been on good terms ever since lol!!! it will also become easier after you get to know your baby better. you'll learn to recognize when she is hungry, or just wants comfort!!
