I POAS at lunch and got
2 pink lines!!!!!!
I am so OMG right now. I sat on the toilet and cried for 20 minutes because I am so excited/scared!
I have not told anyone IRL because Justin is at work and I didn't want to tell him over the phone.
So question time:
How did you tell you H? Any creative ideas?
When did you tell your parents/immediate family? Everyone else?
TIA
Re: Well....
congrats!!
eta: i didn't see the questions, sry. i took mine in the morning before work, so dh was home. and so i told him that i had something interesting to show him.
we waited a couple of days before telling our families. and i didn't tell friends until 12 wks.
Congratulations! How exciting.
I bought a plain white onsie and iron letters because DH is a b-ball fanatic. Onsie said "Team Lastname" on one side and had DH's high school and basketball # on the other. I put it along w/ the digital HPT that said pregnant in a gift bag and told him it was a "just cause" gift. There are pics in my blog in the very first post.
I told my mom a few days after because I just couldn't stand keeping it from her. I told the rest of my family and close friends at around 6 weeks. I realize that's early in most people's opinions but it wasn't a big deal to me. I would have told them and wanted their support no matter what.
Be sure to come back and let us know how you break the news to DH!! Happy and Healthy 9 months to you.
Congratulations!!!
I POAS in the guest bathroom while DH was taking a shower in ours. I ran and printed a sign on the computer that said in BIG letters, "You're going to be a DADDY!" and laid the stick beside it. I heard him open the shower curtain and you could tell immediately that he saw it. Then he ran to the door and I was sitting on the edge of the bed laughing!
Thanks ladies! Those are all great ideas. I am going to go to Walmart to see what I can find when I get off work.
I will update tonight!
Congrats!!
My Dh was home with me when I took the test, so he knew right away. We told family and friends right away too we aren't good at keeping secrets.
Congrats!!
DH was home when I tested. Originally I threw away the test because I thought it was negative. When I decided to take another look a couple hours later and pulled it out of the trashcan, I started screaming so loud that DH thought I had fallen in the bathroom. Lol. That is how he found out.

Congrats!!!
I didn't do anything creative. Ours was a happy surprise so I just took the digital down to DH where he was napping on the couch. I showed it to him and as soon as he got this HUGE smile on his face I burst into tears! I was scared to death, but it made me feel relieved and happy that his first insinct was to be so glad.
Congratulations!
I had been testing and getting negatives, so I decided just to take the last one I had. DH had already left for work, and when I saw the positive, I was so happy I became hysterical and I had to call him! I wish I could have seen his face, but I know what it looked like, and I couldn't have waited all day to tell him.
Congrats!
I am like a lot of the others that, DH was with me (actually he thought I was PG before I did and bought me the test) and we actually told parents that evening. We can't keep secrets. Little did we know we were already 9 weeks along at that point.
The Grandmothers, I asked "So, how do you like the name Nana?" It was great to see their faces!
Best of luck!
Wow!! Congrats!!!
Congratulations!
I wasn't very creative...I had tested the day before and got a faint line but I thought I was seeing things it was that faint. So I told him about it when he got home and I told him I'd test again the next morning. It was a Saturday. When I tested again the line was darker so I confirmed with a digital...I took a picture of the test and set it as the backdrop on his laptop so he'd see it when he got on his computer. We told our parents and siblings at 6 weeks and everyone else at 14 weeks right after we had heard the heartbeat.
Well thanks for all the ideas ladies!
Here is how I told Justin:
His birthday was a week ago today and he was out of town working. So today I saw his dad and he gave me his birthday present. So I bought a bib that said "I Love Daddy" and put it in a mailing envelope with the positive test and a note saying "Your special delivery will arrive around November 25, 2010".
I gave him his present from his Dad and told him the other one was a late birthday present from me that came in the mail today. I also told him I would take pictures and everything since he was out of town on his birthday. Well I told him to open mine last and he did.
He pulled the bib out dropped everything else and said "Are you pregnant?" and I started crying and said "Yea" he said "Really" and I said "Yea". Then we cried and hugged and laughed for awhile and I said "Did you even see the other stuff?" He said no and looked at the test. So I told him about how I took it and he said when are you going to take another and I said well lets go take one now. So we went and took one "together" and it was also positive!
So there is our story. My first doctors appointment is March 29 and I am around 4 weeks. Also we are not telling anyone till after Easter so if I am friends with you on Facebook please don't say anything there.
OMG congrats girl!!!!
I POAS at like 5am one morning and had to tell DH right away, was not creative at all.
It won't matter how you tell him or what you do b/c it will always be exciting/special.
My DH cried when I told him : )
Congrats!!!
We both suspected that I was pregnant, so I POAS the morning my AF was supposed to come. When it was positive I just showed it to him. Neither of us believed it until I took a digital, lol. There's something about seeing the word "Pregnant" that hits home, lol.
Congrats to you!!
That's sweet that you got to tell him close to his birthday
