Pregnant after a Loss

PSA about bumbos

Because my cousin just reminded me of this awsome surprise about them.  The form fitting of the butt causes less room in their diapers and if DD pooped in one, that poop would travel out every opening in her onsie or pants, or whatever she was wearing, including the neck hole.  Luckily they are easy to clean.  Stick out tongue  Just felt like warning you all.

Re: PSA about bumbos

  • Wow... the neck hole.  Goodness, that might be reason enough to avoid the bumbo.

  • I used the bumbo quite often with DD and never had that problem... but I guess it could happen.  The seat was great IMO, and that is definitely not a reason to avoid it.

  • Sorry, I didn't mean to say don't get one, DD loved being able to sit upright and see the world, it is easy to clean, and the same thing can happen in a highchair, or just sitting on their bum.  It just only happened to DD in her bumbo, and only a handful of times.
  • For DD, we didn't get a bumbo, but opted for this. It worked wonderfully bc u can buckle them in, and was easy to take with us when we went to visit family. She still uses it as her booster seat at our dinner table now.

There are several different brands of them and the prices vary. Kmart and Target seem to sell the biggest variety of them.

  • I love our bumbo, our son has an intestinal disease and we had trouble getting him to go- but when we put him in the bumbo he'd poop.  it worked like a charm, i guess it's something about the way it's designed.  we never had an poopy explosions though, guess we got lucky.  i also love the play tray i bought to go with it.  our lil' one is our third and i sooo wish i'd had one with the girls.
