HA. No shocker to me. My husband and I NEVER fought until we had the boys. It's amazing how snappy you can get when it's 3am and you haven't slept more than 60 minutes at a time in weeks...

I guess I kinda thought this was common knowledge - my RE gave us an info sheet about multiples when we said we were open to putting two back at transfers and right under all the health risks was a whole section about the higher rate of divorce with multiples. it talked about the financial hardship was well as the emotional aspect of splitting attention between two babies of the same age, stress, etc.
That said, my husband and I have been really good about realizing that we're going to snap at each other and that we need to apologize when we slip and say something we don't mean or that comes out harsher than we intend. i think we set ourselves up for this being just downright awful for a while, so we've been surprised at how well we work together to get things done.
i will say that i have found it all to be stressful on the marriage - IF, high risk pgcy, then newborn twins...

definitely gretchen, the IF wasn't so bad, but the hospital bedrest was draining and then coming home not spending time each other. It's stressful.

Ohhhhh, definitely. Our entire lives changed after we had the twins. Having Lilly was an absolute breeze compared to having the twins. We even reminded each other before the twins were born that we were going to "hate" one another at certain points in time. We also created a "sorry" pact to each other before the babies were even born. Now every time we get snippy one of us reminds us of the "sorry" pact we made before they were born. Ha! There are times I seriously say under my breath "f*ck that damn pact, I'm pissed and I'm not sorry!"..ha..ha.
