when do you stop using # of months for LO's age?

i still do. when people ask, i tell them ds is 22 months. i would have made fun of myself in my pre-child years.

when will you/did you stop using months and just say... 1.. or almost 2...?

Once he hits two, I would just start saying two.

Sort of silly, but I go by the clothes. It is weeks until they are 12, then months until they are 2T.

i was saying xx months until a few weeks ago when i realized i could just say "he'll be 2 in may". after he turns 2 i can say, "he turned 2 in may", etc...

This. A un-childed friend asked me this just the other day. I confidently stated that that was the norm.

Yeah, I used to hate when people would tell me their child was 18 months.

And now I do it.

Because 12 months is way different from 18 which is way different from 23. But I didn't know until I got to this point of parenting.

Pre baby I thought it ended at 1 year. Now I agree - 2 years is the cutoff.

Honestly, I have to think about exactly how many months old she is. I have a lot on my mind.

But personally, 1 for me is the cutoff if I'm just talking to a stranger in public who asks how old she is.

Now, if it's another mom and we're comparing kids' ages or distance between siblings, then whatever.

But if the cashier at winn dixie asks me how old she is, I don't think she really needs to know how old she is down to the month. I have said things like, almost 1, 1, she turned 1 in October, almost a year and a half, etc. In the summertime I'll probably say something like - she'll be 2 in October.

When people ask I say "almost 2" but I still take monthly pictures so I count by month...I will stop at 2.
