Cat vent - TMI

If poop makes you squeamish, back out now haha  My cat has constant diarrhea, reason unknown.  But I just learned of a parasite a cat I USED to have has and was treated for and now she's better so I want my cat checked for the same thing. 

I brought in a sample yesterday like they asked and they told me there was too much litter in it.  I was like ok well how do I get liquid poop out of the box without litter all mixed in? haha  They told me to keep track of him and wait by the box when he goes and get to it before he can cover it.  Then get it to the vet within a couple hours.  My god people - do you think I don't work?!  This is going to be an adventure, for sure :-p

    They always just take a sample straight from the butt from my animals.  Sucks for the critters, but its much easier for me

    awww... poor kitty!  You can try putting shredded newspaper at the bottom of the litter box instead of cat litter for one day.  Let the kitty do his or her business then run over to the vet to get the poop looked at.  THEN let your DH change the litter box back to litter!  :)

    I was just going to suggest newspaper. At all of the vet hospitals that I've worked at, we used compressed newspaper pellets for litter because it didn't taint the test results. Good luck!

    my cat had this also, they found he has kind of like Crohns disease in humans.  He takes prednisone twice a day.  I had to bring in samples all of the time, it sucked!

    Ali when I had Bella tested they gave me some plastic litter and had me confine her to a room until she'd used it.  It doesn't contaminate the sample.  I don't know just a thought.  Seems a little redonk for a pregnant chick to be hanging out by a little box waiting for her cat to poop........
