"What no bump?"

in 1st Trimester

I was out sick most of last week and apparently it circulated in my absence that I am pregnant.

One co-irker saw me yesterday and said 'what no bump yet?'

Indifferent What do you say to that?

"Umm no?"  "I am chubby so it will be a while" or "I am only 3 months and if I was showing alot you might think it were twins?"

Sheesh

    Perhaps a cold, unblinking stare and a "pardon me?"

    I think when you deny it then announce it later it just looks silly. So I'd go with the stare.

    I have no idea what you say to that. People can be irriatating some times. Even though I am sure it was unintentional on her part.

    I came out early at work because I couln't contain my excitement.  And I had people telling me I was "showing" at about 7 weeks.  I just kept saying "No, that's not baby, that's just fat" and they haven't said anything else since then.

    I should have said pardon me but I was so taken aback!  At this point I have given up keeping it a secret esp. because I apparently work in a gossip mill but c'mon!!

    That is incredibly rude of your coworker.  I'm having the same problem too.  My parents, my father in law, my brother and his wife all have mentioned that I'm not showing yet and I don't have a bump.  My SIL is currently pregnant and she said she was showing when she was 3 months.  Hello!  It's baby bloat!  How can she not know that?!
