We have a little potty chair & we bought a couple of the toilet seats w/ both an adult & child ring, but I don't think Jared's ready yet. He knows when he's about to poop, but it's like 2 seconds before he goes. He doesn't care about having a wet diaper either.
You guys?
Re: Anybody diving into potty training yet?
This week we're potty training our middle son and he's 3. We tried the whole early potty training thing with our oldest, both before his brother was born and after. He sort of had the idea the first time, but once his brother was born, he completely regressed. Eventually though, he did it all his own when he was 3 1/2. With our middle I figured I'd wait until he was 3. We had a new baby on the way and I didn't want to go through that regression as we did with our oldest. Baby is now 9 weeks old and my husband has taken it upon himself to train our middle son (took the week off). Today is day 3 and he's telling us he needs to go potty and makes it!! The issue with early potty training is they really are not in tune with their bodies and/or cannot communicate that they need to go. With my oldest we "potty trained" on and off for about a year, he just wasn't ready. This time though with our middle son, he's ready. We just put him in real underwear and haven't looked back. Day 1 we had about 5 accidents, yesterday about the same and none today.
This is us EXACTLY! Jack can tell us when he's about to poo, and then wants his diaper changed immediately, but he has no concept of peeing whatsoever. We have a potty chair, and it scares the crap out of me. I have no idea what to do with it or him.
Mommy FAIL.
