No. My SIL went for her first u/s and the baby didn't have a heartbeat I'm trying to understand the physical part she'll have to go through... the emotional I can't even imagine.

I found out on Weds and we were scheduled for Thursday. Of course, I had only had brown spotting up to the second we pulled into the parking lot of the surgery center....then I gushed.

My First was a B.O. so it ws 2 weeks just to be sure and see if i could mc naturally. the second was the next morning, probably could have had it that day but it was late in the afternoon.
My OB gave me the option of waiting for nature to take its course or having a D&E. I opted for a D&E a week after my appointment. The waiting was killing me.

I had two D&Cs and both times had to wait a few days (over the weekend the first time and over the christmas holiday last time).
And as a side note - I think it's wonderful that you're trying to be there for your SIL and thank you for not posting this on the MC/PL board or the TTCAL board - you'd be amazed at how many people do.
If you really want some insight, ideas, etc. as the PGAL or Parenting After Loss boards. Those women have 'been there' and are in a slightly better place to provide insight that the other two boards.
Re: ? about m/c and d&e

Not necessarily. I had a D&E the day after our loss was confirmed at 9 weeks.
I agree I had 3 losses with 3 D & E's!
Thanks for pointing this out. I was going to reply but I thought it would just come across bitchy.
