What do you ladies use for carpet cleaning? DD is going to be crawling in the next few months and we haven't washed the carpets since we moved in (3 years ago - yikes!!). I would like to get clean carpets but without all of the nasty carpet cleaning chemicals. TIA.

Re: Carpet Cleaning
I've done all of the following with success in our Bissell.....but just so you know, it does void warranties if you use anything other than recommended products.
- plain water
- water/vinegar
- Dr. Bronners/water (don't use too much, it does sudse a lot) and you'll probably have to do a rinse as well
I would call a carpet cleaning co and ask if they have an EF option. I would NOT use chemicals on the carpet.
My DH had carpet as a baby and his mother hired people to clean every month. He was allergic to the chemicals. The parents didnt figure it out for a while and he was on meds for so long that his teeth were all discolored, not to mention sick for years of his life with asthma etc. I'm sure that now there are way more EF options but its scary that the chemicals of the past were that toxic.
