Question about peroids after d&c

Okay, I've always had pretty regular periods. When I was on the pill they were extremely predictable (I mean as to when I would get them each month). After my d&c I got my first period almost a month to the day of the surgery. We've been waiting for me to get my second one (this month) and still nothing! It is really making me anxious because I really wanted to start ttc again this month in hopes of a 2010 baby still (kind of dumb, I know. It doesn't really matter, but I still had hope). Sorry for the long rant, my question is, are periods this crazy after the d&c??? It's been a week since I was "supposed" to get it. And I'm not pregnant (we've been careful bc dh swears the doctor said to wait 2 cycles).

TIA:)

Re: Question about peroids after d&c

  • I'd def call your doc. Mine was back on schedule after surgery. And your dh is right in that docs do recommend resting the body after the pg. You can also ask the m/c loss board as there are prob more women there with experience, unfortunately. Good luck!

  • Mine was also almost to the day a month after my D & C. The next month it was a week late and I was pg. I m/c that one and now my period is longer...but like 3-4 days...not as much as a week. If you are still testing and it is not positive I would call the Dr.
  • I'm just going to wait two more days just in case. I mean, it's weird that it's late but it could just be my body adjusting I guess, right? I haven't tested just because I know it's going to be negative (we've been using condoms so there's no way).

    Thanks!!

  • You're body is definitely adjusting, and it can take awhile after a D&C, even if you had a first normal period. The second and third ones may not be so normal.
