Summer Infant Monitor and Static

We got the Summer Infant video monitor with two cameras.  I was so excited for this since we never had a video monitor with Ava. We set it up and have been using it for a week and we have horrible static with it. The one in the nursery doesn't seem to be as bad, but when on the camera in Ava's room there is horrible static on the handheld, and is extremely tempermental if you move an inch or walk in front of it.  Did anyone else have this problem?

At first I thought it was that one of the cameras was bad, but we swapped them and are still having the issue.  We also tried moving the camera to various spots in the room. It might just be that Avas room is too far or there is some sort of interference, but I am bummed cause now I'm not sure whether to keep it or not.

    yes I have the same issue.  If it is near a cordless phone or your cell phone devices then you will have more static.  if you turn it a little bit another direction it helps mine.  But yes it is normal.

    Have you thought about exchanging it for a digital? I have the Summer Best View Handheld. Its digital, so I've never had any kind of issues with interference.

    I did and I just sent mine back to the company. they are sending me another and said it would take about 10 days. my static was so bad, i couldnt even use it.

    Yes, if it's anywhere near our cell phones or iPod it gets really static-y.  We also are picking up another monitor's signal, so we can sometimes see their baby :/
